premise/holds [03 Jun 2008|09:05am]
This game will center around a group of high school students spending the summer in Seoul, South Korea working with Habitat for Humanity. Participants do not need to know how to speak Korean, or know anything about the country. The program will be run in English, and most participants are from the United States, though they can come from anywhere in the world. A summer school and job opportunities will be made available to those in need, though neither are requirements. The program will occasionally assign group projects or chat buddies to promote interaction among the students, which will hopefully also promote in-game activity.

There are two general types of students who participate in this program: those who voluntarily apply to do community service, and those who are required to serve as mandated by the court as part of a sentence. And even within these, there are further subdivisions: there are volunteers who simply wish to help, as well as those who are only trying to pad their college résumés, or those who were volunteered by parents trying to teach them the value of hard work, and so on. Although many of the volunteers come from upper class families and prestigious prep schools, as the application process is rather competitive and there is a fee involved, students come from all walks of life, and scholarships are available to those in need. The program strives to have as diverse a pool of participants as possible, so it is highly unlikely that siblings or a large number of students from a single school would be accepted. One of the major points of this game is to play unrelated characters thrown together in new situations, without any backstory or planned out futures.

You have the option of playing either the students involved, or those in charge of them, including but not limited to summer school teachers and college-aged RAs. Please remember to specify your character's position when placing a hold and when submitting your application; if you wish to play a student, tell us whether he or she will be a volunteer or a court-ordered attendee. At the moment, there are no character limits of any kind, but if we start getting too much of a gender or a group, we may start capping them.

Chace Crawford - court-ordered attendee
Leighton Meester - volunteer - PENDING
Megan Fox - volunteer
Rachel Bilson - court-ordered attendee
Sophia Bush - volunteer

Holds last until first adds. We're sorry, but we do not accept PB challenges.
